SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICES are regularly at 9am and 11am. (On September 30 we will have one combined worship service at 10am.) Our September Sermon Series is ”Trust Without Borders!” Relationships should be deeply rooted in trust. This series will remind us of our response when Jesus is present and calling. Jesus calls people to follow and trust him without creating and worrying about borders. We live in a time when borders are everywhere in our lives. Borders show up in the spiritual, physical, mental, and economic aspects of our lives. Borders prevent us from experiencing the fullness of God in our lives. Borders can be used for good and/or for division. When Jesus calls us, it typically involves us moving beyond self-constructed or self-imposed borders. It takes trust to follow Jesus and keep following him regardless of the borders.

We meet at 12:30pm at the offices of the United Methodist Publishing House, at 2222 Rosa L. Parks Blvd. We are meeting (for the summer) on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month. We invite you to join us and bring a neighbor, family or friends! For more information on our Encounter Ministry, you may contact Rick Quinn at email@example.com.
REFRESH! is our mid-week gathering. We meet in the first floor chapel each Wednesday, 12:00-12:30pm. Our worship includes prayers, music, a message and Holy Communion. Everyone is invited to attend.
McKENDREE LEADERSHIP SUMMIT We will be offering two Leadership sessions for our ministry teams on Saturday, September 8th, at 10am or Saturday, September 15th at 10am. We will be working with our Ministry Teams on our Ministry Action Plans and Budget Planning. These two documents are needed for our Finance/Trustee Budget Submissions in October and for Annual Charge Conference on November 1. Team leaders, please formulate your teams and have at least three of your team members to one of these sessions with you.

McKENDREE GROUP MINISTRIES!
LIFE GROUPS RESUME AFTER SUMMER BREAK A new season of Life Group ministry at McKendree is upon us! While some of our groups meet year round, we follow a season of a fall and spring season of life group meetings with a suggested summer break and brief Christmas and New Year break. Our next season of life groups will kick off this year after the Labor Day Weekend, Sept 1-3. We are encouraging all life groups to resume meeting after that date if they have taken a summer break. If you are interested in being part of a life group feel free to reach out to Rick Quinn at firstname.lastname@example.org.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY We are beginning a study on the book of Matthew, based on the book, Be Loyal, by Warren Wiersbe. Our assignment for September 5 is to read Matthew chapter 5. We meet at 6pm on Wednesday evenings in Pastor Stephen’s office. Everyone is welcome.
PRAYER WALL Our prayer wall is located on the table at the back of the church. You may take a tag (in a box on the table), write out your prayer need, and place it on a nail in the wall. On Tuesdays and Thursdays the Lead Team and Prayer Team pray over all the concerns submitted. We welcome people from our congregation to submit concerns and to read and pray over the concerns of our church body. You may also share your concerns with the church staff by phone (615-271-2600) or email (email@example.com).
