Acts 4:32-37, Common English Bible
What could it mean for the faith community to gather intentionally and behave in a significant way that honors instruction of Christ, strengthens the faith and sees the other? What makes it so difficult to live in the margins with others and then emerge with a mindset of the miraculous?
Acts is an instructive manual that teaches us how to exist, behave and create community with each other. However, this type of Acts community doesn’t happen unless we are in union with Christ. To participate in the “too good to be true,” here’s what’s non-negotiable. We must…
Move from selfishness to selflessness!
The community of believers was one in heart and mind. None of them would say, “This is mine!” about any of their possessions, but held everything in common.” Acts 4:32
Keep our eyes on Jesus!
The apostles continued to bear powerful witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and an abundance of grace was at work among them all. Acts 4:33
Continue to add to the whole!
There were no needy persons among them. Those who owned properties or houses would sell them, bring the proceeds from the sales, and place them in the care and under the authority of the apostles. Then it was distributed to anyone who was in need. Acts 4:34-35
