As I write this eNote to our faithful and devoted community of radical followers of Jesus Christ, I am reminded of this Christmas season and the gift of unconditional love.  Christmas is a time when love came down from heaven and entered into the world to redeem us.  No one expected a Savior as a baby and many didn’t recognize him.

For those of us who accepted Christ, it simply means we get to love anyway!  During this Christmas season when someone takes your parking space, you wait too long in line, get struck in rush hour traffic, amass too much debt, remember we get to respond with love anyway!  This is an alternative response to what the world offers.

Jesus comes as an alternative to what the world is offering.  Isaiah writes, “A child is born to us, a son is given to us, and authority will be on his shoulders.  He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.”   Isaiah 9:6

Remember this Christmas will offer us products, toys, and other attractions, but the best Christmas ever is the gift of Christ and the Gift possesses us.  So whatever our situation, condition, our response is simple, we get to love anyway!
