McKENDREE MINISTRIES!

SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICES  are regularly at 9am and 11am.  (On Fifth Sundays we have one combined worship service at 10am.)  Our August Sermon Series is “Women of the Faith!”  We will explore how God called the women throughout the Bible to participate in His(tory).  Women are called to be in ministry and the negative labels, despairing comments, and glass-ceiling limitations are deeply rooted in Patriarchal structures and patterns.  How do we join with God to reimagine women in ministry for a hopeful and redemptive future?  Join us for a time to hear how God liberates the Women of the Faith, then and now!

BAPTISMS  If you are interested in being baptized, please contact Ruth Baggett in the church office at 615-271-2600 or mckendreeinfo@gmail.com.

REFRESH! is our mid-week gathering.  We meet in the first floor chapel each Wednesday, 12:00-12:30pm.  Our worship includes prayers, music, a message and Holy Communion.  Everyone is invited to attend.

UNITED METHODIST WOMEN  Our UMW will meet Saturday, August 19 at 10am in the Archives Room.  After a brief meeting, we will assemble disaster health kits that go to UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief).  Extra hands are needed and welcomed. We need donations of combs (not pocket combs or rattail combs), hand towels and nail clippers.  All ladies are welcome to join us!

WEDNESDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY   Our Wednesday night adult Bible study group has started an in-depth study of the book of Philippians.  The Apostle Paul wrote to the Christians in Philippi while in prison in Rome, yet the word “rejoice” is in this letter 11 times, “joy” is used 6 times, and “peace” and “grace” are here 3 times each.  Paul didn’t allow his situation or circumstances to control his relationship with Christ!  Our scripture study this week will be Philippians 1:1-11.  We welcome everyone to join with us for this study series.  We meet each Wednesday at 6pm in Pastor Stephen’s office.  Please contact Ruth Baggett if you have any questions — 615-271-2600 or mckendreeinfo@gmail.com.

CONGREGATIONAL PRAYER  Remember that we as a church are praying the Lord’s Prayer every day at Noon.  Wherever you are at noon, we invite you to join us in prayer.

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN LEARNING HOW TO SAVE A LIFE?  Kathy Von Nieda will be offering CPR classes here at the church.  The schedule will be determined according to the number of people we have, and what days/times will work best.  The cost of the class will be $30 per person.  Please contact Ruth Baggett (615-271-2600 or mckendreeinfo@gmail.com) if you’re interested.

PRAYER WALL  Our prayer wall is located on the table at the back of the church.  You may take a tag (in a box on the table), write out your prayer need, and place it on a nail in the wall.  On Tuesdays and Thursdays the Lead Team and Prayer Team pray over all the concerns submitted.  We welcome people from our congregation to submit concerns and to read and pray over the concerns of our church body.
