Greetings Holy, Healthy and Happy People of God,
As I write this eNote to our faithful and devoted community of radical and responsible followers of Jesus Christ, I am excited about McKendree’s response to unfortunate and unforeseen tragic events. For your generosity, I want to acknowledge two ways we are and will experience God’s grace.
First, thank you for sponsoring four college students in the Philippines. The President of the Southern Philippines Methodist College, Framer Mella, who also serves on the General Commission of Religion and Race’s Board, will be overwhelmed by our love in the United Methodist Connection. To hear Framer share how she used her own money to buy shoes for the students to wear was heartbreaking, but to see our financial response restored my heart. “From everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required; and from the one to whom much has been entrusted, even more will be demanded.” Luke 12:48 (b)
Second, the response to the UMCOR survival buckets was just as impressive. Your financial response and supplies response is incredible. There are so many substantial needs in the Texas and Louisiana areas but if everyone does their part in the body of Jesus Christ, the various needs will be met. Remember after our 9am worship experience, we will gather to package these buckets and then deliver them to an area church for a larger shipment of needed supplies in the Texas area affected by Hurricane Henry. “Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.” Matthew 25:40
May we continue to pray for the relief to the victims of Hurricane Harvey and protection and safety to those in the path of Hurricane Irma.
Hear the W.O.W., the Words of Wisdom,
“We are the hands and feet of Jesus!”
Remember to pray The Lord’s Prayer every day at 12 Noon!
As always, remember, God’s will for us is good, we must do the rest!
