Because of Bethlehem

Wednesday Night Bible Study — Advent Study

We think of Bethlehem at Christmas time, the place where Jesus was born.  We sing the carol “O Little Town of Bethlehem” and the children act out the Nativity story in their Christmas program in our churches.  But do we think about Bethlehem the rest of the year?  We tend to focus more on Jerusalem, the sea of Galilee, Cana or even Bethany, places we associate with the ministry of Jesus during His physical time on earth.  But if it hadn’t been for the birth at Bethlehem, none of the New Testament would have any meaning.  There would be no Christmas celebration, no Easter resurrection.

Our Wednesday night adult Bible study group is enjoying a study of Max Lucado’s book, Because of Bethlehem.  This is a 4-week study for Advent.  We invite everyone to come and study with us.  We meet each Wednesday at 6pm in Pastor Stephen’s office.  Please contact Ruth Baggett if you have any questions – 615-271-2600 or mckendreeinfo@gmail.com.
