Join Jesus in the Movement of Justice!

Greetings Holy, Healthy and Happy People of God,

As I write this eNote to our faithful and devoted community of radical and contextually conscious followers of Jesus Christ, I am grateful for an America that allows the practice of democracy.  The Women’s March Youth EMPOWER called for students, teachers, school administrators, parents and allies to take part in a #NationalSchoolWalkout for 17 minutes at 10am on March 14, 2018 to protest Congress’ inaction to do more than tweet thoughts and prayers in response to the gun violence plaguing our schools and neighborhoods.  Students responded across the country and even here in Nashville with walkouts to declare “No More!”

Whether the students knew it or not, they were living out Micah 6:8 (NIV) “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.  And what does the Lord require of you?  To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”  Justice demands to injustice and the opposite of justice is not just injustice but also inaction.  As a faith leader to see people involved for the sake of the gospel brings me hope.

We pray that this movement of young people builds momentum that will eventually generate reform.  However, reform takes time and the commitment for the long haul must be known.

As with Jesus during his journey to the cross, there will times of doubt and fear, but we know and trust God to guide us through the difficult times.  God grant us the strength to endure uncertain times.  So let us rise up and let’s go on with justice for the sake of the gospel.

Hear the W.O.W., the Words of Wisdom,
“Join Jesus in the movement of justice!”

Remember to pray The Lord’s Prayer every day at 12 Noon!

As always, remember, God’s will for us is good, we must do the rest!
Pastor Stephen
