McKENDREE MINISTRIES!
SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICES are regularly at 9am and 11am. (On Fifth Sundays we have one combined worship service at 10am.) Our June/July sermon series is “Talking with God!” This series explores what to say when you don’t know how to pray. Even more the series will give us the understanding and confidence to pray with ease and expectation. Often we think about prayer as a well-crafted experience and we need just the right language for God to hear us. What if prayer were just the opposite? We are using the Lord’s Prayer as a guide for this eight part series.
BAPTISM If you are interested in being baptized, please contact Ruth in the church office at mckendreeinfo@gmail.com.
ENCOUNTER MINISTRY We invite you to join us Sunday afternoons at 12:30pm at the offices of the United Methodist Publishing House at 2222 Rosa L. Parks Blvd, for our Encounter service. The Encounter is an alternative service for those who feel “church” is not for them. We are disrupting the passive model of Christian gathering and building bridges of hope around tables where we encounter God in and with our neighbor and engage the neighborhood. For more information on our Encounter Ministry, you may contact Rick Quinn at mckendreerick@gmail.com.
REFRESH! is our mid-week gathering. We meet in the first floor chapel each Wednesday, 12:00-12:30pm. Our worship includes prayers, music, a message and Holy Communion. Everyone is invited to attend.

McKENDREE GROUP MINISTRIES!
UMW MEETING Our next meeting of the McKendree United Methodist Women is Saturday, June 23 at 10am. We will meet in the church Community Room. Martha Barr will share her experience at the recent National Assembly of UMW. Following her presentation, the items for the Hygiene Kits (for UMCOR) will be assembled.
For anyone who is available or has signed up to help clear the kitchen, pantry and storeroom for the kitchen renovation, we will adjourn to the Fellowship Hall to work from 12-3pm.
The Mission U will be held at St. Marks UMC in Murfreesboro. Day classes are July 12-13, and the night classes are July 11-13. If you are interested in attending either session, please contact Martha Barr (615-957-6081 or mlbarr315@gmail.com) or Willodene Brodrick (615-641-6858 or wbrodrick@tds.net) for a Registration form. OPPORTUNITIES FOR SERVICE!
CLOTHING CLOSET ORGANIZATION Thank you to everyone who has helped sort and organize clothing in our clothes closet! Your help has been greatly appreciated!
We are in need of two kinds of help —
1) Sorting and organizing. Donations come in every week, and need to be sorted and put on the shelves. This work is best done when the closet is NOT open for people to come in. This can be done morning or afternoon, Monday-Friday, for 1-2 hours. You can come on a one-time basis, or come once a week, twice a month, whatever fits with your own personal schedule.
2) Greeters for the closet during open hours. Duties include smiling, greeting our guests, helping them find clothing, and giving basic information about McKendree Church. Someone from the church staff is always available to help. Greeters are needed for 2-hour time periods, morning or afternoon, Monday-Friday. It is helpful to have greeters on a consistent schedule — for example, every Tuesday morning, or Wednesday afternoons twice a month — whatever would work for your personal schedule.
If you can assist with either of these tasks, please contact Ruth Baggett in the church office (mckendreeinfo@gmail.com or 615-271-2600). I will be happy to show you the closet and talk with you about our ministry opportunity here.

CHURCH FAMILY NEWS
PRAYER WALL Our prayer wall is located on the table at the back of the church. You may take a tag (in a box on the table), write out your prayer need, and place it on a nail in the wall. On Tuesdays and Thursdays the Lead Team and Prayer Team pray over all the concerns submitted. We welcome people from our congregation to submit concerns and to read and pray over the concerns of our church body. You may also share your concerns with the church staff by phone (615-271-2600) or email (mckendreeinfo@gmail.com).
HAVE YOU MOVED? Do you have a new address, phone number or email address? Have you taken out your home phone and now just use your cell number? Please keep the church office informed with your latest information so we can keep you up to date on all the church events! Thanks for your help!
