Called to Be Carriers of Joy!

Greetings Holy, Healthy and Happy People of God,

As I write this eNote to our faithful and devoted community of radical and responsible followers of Jesus Christ, I recently conversed with a friend with the flu.  There is nothing like the flu, but in the summer season, that’s unheard of.  The flu is a virus that can only exist when it’s able to attach itself to a host cell in the body.  The flu goes where it doesn’t belong and respects no boundaries.  The flu affects everyone.

As I thought about the Prophet Isaiah, he represents a leader who is willing to lead God’s people in the way of God, what are we carriers of?  The Israelites were on again and off again with God.  But this time Isaiah offers these words, “You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.”  Isaiah 55:12, NIV

It sounds as if Isaiah is encouraging the chosen people of God to be carriers of joy.  First, to be carriers of joy would suggest that we, God’s chosen, would be marked by God for joy.  To be marked by God for joy denotes that we are assigned to be joy carriers then and now.  Second, to be carriers of joy would suggest that we must mention joy as a way to praise God for this life we are honored to live.  Because of God’s love, joy should be contagious.  Does joyfulness frequently come from your mouth?  The Psalmist records these words, “Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.”  Psalm 150:6, NIV

Joy is the alternative to hate, despair, fear and doubt.  Jesus became the alternative to eternal death by sacrificing his life for all human sin.  We now get to be the host cell for the joy of the LORD so that the world can receive and celebrate Jesus.

Hear the W.O.W., the Words of Wisdom,
“Joy is one response to our salvation in Jesus Christ!”

Remember to pray The Lord’s Prayer every day at 12 Noon!

As always, remember, God’s will for us is good, we must do the rest!
