Congregational Life;  “Are you hurting? Pray. Are you going through any loss or sickness? Call the church folks to share what you go through. Sharing your hurts in prayer will help you heal more quickly, and the Lord will put you on your feet” (Cf. James 5:13-15). McKendree UMC is creating a church home where everyone is welcome and unreservedly cared for.  If you have anyone who goes through difficult times such as hospitalization, surgery, or loss, please let us know by calling the church (615-271-2600) or “Sonny” (615-300-8093) after office hours. Sonny may prefer text messages, but you still can call him anytime and leave a message.

Congregational Life Team will meet Sunday, March 22 nd at 10:25 am in Pastor Sonny’s office or Stephen’s.  If you are interested in serving as a Congregational Life Team member, please join us.  You will be truly welcome!

Scripture is the best answer to what lies before us. Look to the Holy Spirit to inspire you with hope and a direction that will lift you up and is sure to lead you straight to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
12 “Yet even now, says the Lord,  return to me with all your heart,
with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning; 13  rend your hearts and not your clothing. Return to the Lord, your God,  for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love,  and relents from punishing.”  Joel 2:12-14
14 “Now after John was arrested, Jesus came to Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God, 15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near; repent, and believe in the good news.” Mark 1:14-15

29 “Jesus answered, “The first is, ‘Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one; 30 you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ ”  Mark 12:29-31

Generosity Matters – Thank you for your continued generosity to the ministry and mission of McKendree! We are trying to finalize our giving for 2020.
