Our parking garage is leased to and run by Premier Parking, which offers a fully automated parking system. Here’s what you need to know:
- Get a ticket from the machine when you enter.
- After church on Sundays, the exit gates remain open until 1 pm. No need for a voucher.
- Any other day, pick up a parking voucher from the green “treasure chest” in the back hallway.
- As you leave, put your parking ticket in the machine. The machine will tell you how much you owe. Scan the parking voucher to override the charge and raise the gate. Vouchers are valid for one use only.

You are also welcome to walk and use our front entrance, located at 523 Church Street! Many downtown residents utilize this option.
NO DRESS CODE
At McKendree we believe that God doesn’t care what you are wearing or if you can afford Sunday clothes. You will see everything from people in their Sunday best to jeans and sneakers to people wearing the only clothes they have.
IF YOU HAVE A CHILD
You are welcome to bring your children. We believe that children aren’t the future of our church, they are the NOW! We provide a nursery for those children 36 months old and younger. We also provide an age-appropriate learning experience with skilled and loving caregivers at Children’s Church. We have a strict sign-in out policy as well as issue lanyards for the children. For more info, please see our Children’s page.
AS YOU ENTER THE SANCTUARY
Greeters and Ushers are available to assist you if you have any questions or special needs regarding seating or other general questions. Should a special need arise during the service, please do not hesitate to contact any member of the hospitality committee.
DURING EACH SERVICE
We welcome our first time guests. We won’t put you on the spot, ask you to stand or call you up front. We will welcome you! We also will ask you to fill out a connection card.
COMMUNION
Holy Communion is offered every Sunday at McKendree. Part of our Wesleyan tradition as Christians is to participate in constant communion and not just frequent communion. Constant communion is a journey toward conversion, holiness and sanctification. One of the main reasons for Holy Communion is as a reminder of the invitation of Christ’s love for all people. We invite people to an “Open Table” signifying that the Lord’s Table is a place for all people to participate in a sacramental (simple) and disciplined life where we gather, offer, share and extend ourselves. The Lord’s Table is a place where repentance and reconciliation are expected. For us, the Lord’s Supper is a means of grace; one of the ways God saves us from sin and strengthens us for discipleship.
AFTER THE SERVICE
… you are invited to meet the pastor and other McKendree worshipers in the hall at the back of the Sanctuary.
