THIS WEEK AT McKENDREE!
SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICES are regularly at 9am and 11am (on Fifth Sundays we have one combined worship service at 10am). Our September sermon series is “Count Life All Joy!” By living in a world that is chaotic and confusing, if we are not careful, we can lose our joy for life. God calls us to celebrate in the midst of the chaos. This life is filled with uncertainty and uncontrollable situations, but life, the life that God gives us, is filled with the joy of the LORD! How do we reclaim our joy? Join us for a time of reclaiming and renewing the joy of the LORD that is already within us.
PROMOTION SUNDAY This Sunday, September 18 (and also October 2) during the 9am worship service, we will recognize those of our children who are entering Kindergarten this year. The children will receive a Bible with their name engraved on it. Beginning school is a big step in our children’s lives and we pray for God’s blessings to be with them!
LIFE GROUP! Do you belong to a Life Group? McKendree Church has Life Groups for men, for women, for couples, for mixed men and women, for moms, and even for couponers. REFRESH! is our mid-week gathering. We meet in the first floor chapel each Wednesday, 12:00-12:30pm. This short time of worship includes prayers, hymns, a message and Holy Communion. Everyone is invited to attend.

Bring one or more of the following items to donate to CCF during the month of September. Diapers (sizes 4, 5, 6), Neosporin ointment, calamine lotion and multi-vitamins (small bottles).
THANK YOU! Our United Methodist Women were able to put together 35 health/hygiene kits to be sent to Louisiana as part of the flood relief efforts. Each kit contained a hand towel, a washcloth, a comb, nail clippers, bath soap, a toothbrush, adhesive bandages, all packed in a one-gallon plastic ziplock bag. Thank you to everyone who donated items! Because of continued disaster occurrences around the world, this will be an ongoing project with our UMW group.
