Isaiah 55:6-13, New Revised Standard Version

Everyone carries something with them every day.  Often it is doubt coupled with fear.  However God has planted, as part of our DNA, a joyful spirit.  We are to walk with God in a spirit of joy.

God’s people, the Israelites, are struggling with exile and God invites Isaiah to pay attention to the Word of God.  So God is inviting Isaiah to become a carrier of joy for the people.  In order to experience the joy of the Lord, God says my joy is…

Available and Affirming!

“Seek the Lord while he may be found, call upon him while he is near;”   Isaiah 55:6

Greater than you can imagine!

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”   Isaiah 55:8-9

Bursting to Sing!

“For you shall go out in joy, and be led back in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall burst into song, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.”   Isaiah 55:12
