McKENDREE MINISTRIES!
SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICES are regularly at 9am and 11am. (On Fifth Sundays we have one combined worship service at 10am.) Our May sermon series is “Spiritual Disciplines: Doing the Little Things!”
ENCOUNTER MINISTRIES
METROCENTER Each Sunday at 12:30pm, McKendree Church has an alternative worship service for those who feel “church” isn’t for them. This service meets at the United Methodist Publishing House, 2222 Rosa Parks Blvd.
EDGEHILL The Encounter@Edgehill meets the first Sunday of each month at 4:30pm at Edgehill Café, 1201 Villa Place. In risky, vulnerable small group conversations around tables we seek to confront issues of privilege, racism, and classism that divide us, and to hear the call to God’s beloved community.
Everyone is welcome to attend one or both of our Encounter services. For more information on either of our Encounter Ministries, you may contact Rick Quinn at mckendreerick@gmail.com
REFRESH! is our mid-week gathering. We meet in the first floor chapel each Wednesday, 12:00-12:30pm. Our worship includes prayers, hymns, a message and Holy Communion. Everyone is invited to attend.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY We are studying the book, He Chose the Nails, by Max Lucado. Our lesson for May 10 is Chapter 10, “I Understand Your Pain.” We meet in Pastor Stephen’s office at 6pm, and everyone is welcome to join us!

THE CHURCH’S GROCERY SONG FOR 5&2
Corn, peas, beans, and s’ghetti sauce,
Corn, peas, beans, and s’ghetti sauce,
Through sun and rain and winter frost
There’s always need for corn, peas, beans, and s’ghetti sauce.
5&2 provides lunch each and every Tuesday.
But the cupboard’s bare, it’s sad to say.
So 5&2 volunteers bow heads and pray,
“Congregation, please remember on grocery day–
To buy cans of corn and cans of sweet peas,
They’ll help so much, thank you and please.
Can you or I or anyone really know
How much this food and fellowship will sow?
So when shopping buy cans of beans,
we can use both baked and green,
Can you or I or anyone know
How much this food and fellowship will sow?
And, maybe some pasta and some sauce?
If we all pitch in, we’ll be sharing the cost.
God’s will for us is good- that we know,
So grab this list and to the store let’s go.”
Grocery list:
Corn Sweet peas Green beans
Baked beans Spaghetti Spaghetti sauce
