McKENDREE MINISTRIES!

SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICES  are regularly at 9am and 11am.  (On Fifth Sundays we have one combined worship service at 10am.)  Our May sermon series is “Spiritual Disciplines: Doing the Little Things!”

THE ENCOUNTER@METROCENTER  will host a special joint gathering with the ministry team and worshiping community from City on a Hill Church this Sunday afternoon at 12:30pm at the United Methodist Publishing House located at 2222 Rosa L. Parks Boulevard, Nashville, TN 37228.   This special service will combine the worship teams of both communities in celebration and praise.  Our Pastor Stephen Handy and Pastor Neal Morse of City on a Hill Church will work together to bring the word and lead those gathered in open, vital conversations around small group tables.  Please consider joining us this Sunday, May 21 at 12:30pm for this exciting collaboration!

REFRESH! is our mid-week gathering.  We meet in the first floor chapel each Wednesday, 12:00-12:30pm.  Our worship includes prayers, hymns, a message and Holy Communion.  Everyone is invited to attend.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY  We are studying the book, He Chose the Nails, by Max Lucado.  Our lesson for May 24 is Chapter 12, “I Will Love You Forever.”  We meet in Pastor Stephen’s office at 6pm, and everyone is welcome to join us!

UNITED METHODIST WOMEN  The McKendree UMW will meet May 20th in the Community Room at 10am following the Leadership Council meeting.  Debbie McCormick will lead the program on “MOTHERS IN ACTION.”  We will celebrate the role of mothers in the Bible who save children’s lives, and discover what United Methodist Women’s priority to improve the health of mothers and their children around the world.  Come and learn with us.  All are welcomed.

FAREWELL RECEPTION  There will be a reception on Sunday, June 4 at 10am to honor Jordan Callaway for his 18 years of service here at McKendree Church.  Jordan will be leaving McKendree to pursue other career options.  We pray God’s blessings on Jordan, Lacey and their family.

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES!

MEN’S CLOTHING!  We are in great need of men’s clothing for the clothes closet – pants, shirts, t-shirts, underwear and shoes.  We especially need size large, extra-large and greater!  You can bring your donations on Sunday and place them in the chest just inside the back door.  Thank you for your generosity!

5&2 MEAL GROCERY LIST – Can you help?  Each Tuesday we feed over 100-men and women a hot lunch at our 5&2Meal (Community Lunch).  We are in need of help.  When you do your grocery shopping this week, please consider adding a few items to your cart.  We need:
Canned goods – corn, sweet peas, baked beans, green beans
Spaghetti sauce and spaghetti pasta
