Greetings Holy, Healthy and Happy People of God,
As I write this eNote to our faithful and devoted community of radical and responsible followers of Jesus Christ, I am reminded of the gift of prayer. Thursday evening, I was invited to participate in a Facebook live platform with the question, “Why Pray?” One of my responses centered on a deep desire to commune and communicate with God so that we can continue to sustain our deep holy and redemptive relationship. Then I thought about prayer as our story that connects with God’s covenantal story. I believe that God doesn’t need to know what we think, but rather we need to hear what God desires for our lives and that involves deep, intentional prayer.
Paul, the Apostle, writes these words to the church in Thessalonica, “Rejoice always. Pray continually. Give thanks in every situation because this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, CEB) As with Paul, it is our faithful desire to rejoice in the presence of a faithful and righteous God by giving thanks.
So the next time trouble arises, take a prayer break and give thanks to God.
Remember to pray The Lord’s Prayer every day at 12 Noon!
Hear the W.O.W., the Words of Wisdom,
“Stay Prayed Up!”
As always, remember, God’s will for us is good, we must do the rest!
