1 Chronicles 16:23-31, Common English Bible
Every week we gather to offer God praise, honor and glory! But we also surrender to our Creator, God. Worship is for God! And worship, contrary to what we have been taught, is beyond a mere period of time spent singing, praying, and preaching on Sunday.
King David established worship for the Israelites. And gave them instructions on the demonstration and representation of what happens in worship.
Worship is a human response to the divine initiative!
Sing to the Lord, all the earth! Share the news of his saving work every single day! Declare God’s glory among the nations; declare his wondrous works among all people because the Lord is great and so worthy of praise. 1 Chronicles 16:23-25a
Worship is an emptying out of self!
He is awesome beyond all other gods because all the gods of the nations are just idols, but it is the Lord who created heaven! 1 Chronicles 16:25b-26
Worship is a celebration!
Let heaven celebrate! Let the earth rejoice! Let the nations say, “The Lord rules!” 1 Chronicles 16:31
