Continue to pray and live in unity!

Greetings Holy, Healthy and Happy People of God,

As I write this eNote to our faithful and devoted community of radical and responsible followers of Jesus Christ, I am reminded of the gift of the Holy Spirit.  This Sunday we celebrate the birth of the church, called Pentecost.  In the birth of the church, we find diversity and dialogue that leads to unity.  Conversing generates connection to what we don’t know and the experience of the Holy Spirit can help us discern and come to a greater understanding of God and one another and heal the brokenness.

Earlier this week another One Table Event met where diversity of age, race and class gathered around the table for a meal and deep, thoughtful conversation.  After the gathering I received a text that affirmed God’s presence with us.  “Pastor that was amazing!  I don’t know if I’ll be able to even sleep tonight.  Praise be to God!”  I’m clear that the path God has put McKendree on is giving God glory.

In the gospel of John, it is recorded that Jesus is praying these words, “I pray they will be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.  I pray that they also will be in us, so that the world will believe that you sent me.  I’ve given them the glory that you gave me so that they can be one just as we are one.  I’m in them and you are in me so that they will be made perfectly one.  Then the world will know that you sent me and that you have loved them just as you loved me.”   John 17:21-23

Remember to pray The Lord’s Prayer every day at 12 Noon!

Hear the W.O.W., the Words of Wisdom,
“Continue to pray and live in unity!”

As always, remember, God’s will for us is good, we must do the rest!
Pastor Stephen
