McKENDREE MINISTRIES!
WEAR RED FOR PENTECOST SUNDAY! This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday and we encourage everyone to wear red, orange and yellow this Sunday morning!
SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICES are regularly at 9am and 11am. (On Fifth Sundays we have one combined worship service at 10am.) Our sermon series is “Intentional Disruption!” This series calls us to pay close attention to God’s intentional disruption in our life. In the book of Acts, the Holy Spirit is a disruptive force for the advancement of God’s Kingdom. So let’s not fight disruption but rather join God in the journey of renewal. Disruption helps us change by testing us so that we gather in communion before God and with neighbor. Disruption strengthens our faith and faith is the only way to please God. What in your life needs disrupting?
ENCOUNTER MINISTRIES The Encounter@Edgehill and The Encounter@Metrocenter will take a break from meeting in the month of June. The design teams for these satellite outposts of McKendree’s ministry to the neighborhoods of Nashville will be meeting for a time of reflection on progress so far and visioning toward a re-launch with some innovations in the structure and schedule.
BAPTISMS If you are interested in being baptized, please contact Ruth Baggett in the church office at mckendreeinfo@gmail.com.
REFRESH! is our mid-week gathering. We meet in the first floor chapel each Wednesday, 12:00-12:30pm. Our worship includes prayers, hymns, a message and Holy Communion. Everyone is invited to attend.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY We are studying the book, He Chose the Nails, by Max Lucado. Our lesson for June 7 is Chapter 13, “I Can Turn Your Tragedy into Triumph.” We meet in Pastor Stephen’s office at 6pm, and everyone is welcome to join us!
CONGREGATIONAL PRAYER Remember that we as a church are praying the Lord’s Prayer every day at Noon. Wherever you are at noon, we invite you to join us in prayer.
McKENDREE LIFE GROUPS We have a number of Life Groups that meet in different areas of Nashville and on different days/schedules. If you are interested in being part of any of our Life Groups, please contact Rick Quinn at mckendreerick@gmail.com. Our Life Groups are open to everyone. Feel free to invite your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers!

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES!
MEN’S CLOTHING! We are in great need of men’s clothing for the clothes closet – pants, shirts, t-shirts, underwear and shoes. We especially need size large, extra-large and greater! You can bring your donations on Sunday and place them in the chest just inside the back door. Thank you for your generosity!
UPCOMING DATES
June 11-13 – Annual Conference, Brentwood UMC
June 25 – Safe Sanctuary Training and Clean-up Project in Children’s Hall
July 14-16 – McKendree’s vacation Bible School
WHO ARE ALL THESE PEOPLE? Next week McKendree Church will host the Brentwood Baptist Church Youth Group and the Youth Choir from First UMC, Denton, Texas as they participate in mission projects and activities in Nashville. We’ll have a total of 117 guests here Monday-Wednesday. They will be using some of our classrooms and the kitchen and Christian Life Center. McKendree Church will be hosting several youth groups at different times during the summer. So if you happen to come by the church and see sleeping bags, suitcases and a lot of extra people, realize that this is another aspect of McKendree’s ministry.
