Proverbs 16:1-7, New International Version
The answer to the “Why” question offers insight to the most significant reason for living. Whether we admit it or not, everything we do has a motive. However most human motives are hidden from the naked eye.
Humans draft plans but God has the ultimate plan. God’s plan always has a motive of moving us closer to perfection (known as sanctification). Do our plans help sanctify us?
God’s motive answers the questions of life!
To humans belong the plans of the heart, but from the Lord comes the proper answer of the tongue. Proverbs 16:1
God examines our motives!
All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the Lord. Proverbs 16:2
God’s motive involves love and faith!
Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for; through the fear of the Lord evil is avoided. Proverbs 16:6
