McKENDREE MINISTRIES!
SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICES are regularly at 9am and 11am. (On Fifth Sunday we have one combined worship service at 10am.) Our August sermon series is “Moments with Moses!” In his lifetime, Moses had several defining moments with God and with the Israelites. From the burning bush, crossing of the Red Sea to the Ten Commandments, Moses lived an adventurous life. When following God there is no sense of certainty, only faithfulness. When we lose faith, we seek certainty. Even today, our lives are defined by moments so let’s live for the moments with God and each other. Living a life full of moments invites us to be open to God’s next move.

CHRISTMAS IN JULY On Sunday, July 29th we celebrated Christmas in July – a time when we bring gifts of school supplies for a local school; this year our designated school was Buena Vista Elementary School. Last year we had a total of 505 composition books and spiral notebooks, approximately 2000 pencils, plus other school supplies. This year we had:
351 composition books 225 spiral notebooks 34 folders
2100 pencils (approximately) 56 mechanical pencils 13 boxes of crayons
29 glue sticks
plus color pencils, erasers, pencil sharpeners, pencil boxes/pouches, 3-ring binders, notebook paper, tab dividers, scissors, and washable markers. For the teachers, we had over 300 pens, plus dry erase markers, highlighters, index cards, hand sanitizers, tissues, and hand soaps.
You did a great job, McKendree Church!! The teachers and staff at Buena Vista send their thanks and appreciation. These supplies will make starting school much easier. Thank you so much for your spirit of giving and generosity!
