Acts 2:42-47 Common English Bible

Have you ever visited Toys R Us?  From the time you walk in you realize this gigantic space is dedicated to pleasing the hearts and minds of children.  When children walk in there is splendor and awe.  And you know that is good when your children cry on the way out, unless they possess the toy you promised.

In the same way, the church should be a place when you walk in there is no question what the church is all about.  Pleasing God is our number one priority!  There should be some signs of amazement and wonder as the Holy Spirit guides and leads us into the presence of God.

Devotion to God!
The believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the community, to their shared meals, and to their prayers.  A sense of awe came over everyone.  God performed many wonders and signs through the apostles.   Acts 2:42-43

Development of Community!
All the believers were united and shared everything.  They would sell pieces of property and possessions and distribute the proceeds to everyone who needed them.  Every day, they met together in the temple and ate in their homes.  They shared food with gladness and simplicity.   Acts 2:44-46

Demonstration of Love!
They praised God and demonstrated God’s goodness to everyone.  The Lord added daily to the community those who were being saved.   Acts 2:47

Hear the W.O.W., the Words of Wisdom,
“Intentionally Delight in God!”
